Book Haul

I have not bought books in soooo long... today was exactly what I needed.

My oldest son and I are avid book readers. Loving a variety of genres. We have been adding to our book collection throughout the years and was deeply saddened back in March when our family home caught on fire. I am grateful each and every day that my youngest son and my dogs were able to get out and the fire department was able to get there quickly. Though a lot of what was in the house was damaged either by the fire itself or the water. This included our wall of bookshelves that held over 200 books in total which included books that we've had for a very long time, ones I read to my kids when they were little 20 years ago, my first editions of my favorite series; Harry Potter and Stephen Kings' IT. My beloved special edition Fourth Wing series along with my 3D printed dragons to represent Tarin, Andarna, and Sgaeyl. All but the last two book in the Zodiac Academy series to include Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac. I had been buying them to have the original covers as I like those best. Which included Foxy Tales that is no longer available to purchase :( and ALL of Sarah J Maas' books. With no real space being in temporary housing I have not bought any physical books since earlier this year, but my son and I just needed a day... so off to the bookstore we went to browse and relax and perhaps I forgot what "browse" meant cause I went a little overboard as my browsing turned into buying. :)

So to start off rebuilding my book collection I picked up Quicksilver by Callie Hart, Metal Slinger by Rachel Schneider, the collector's edition of The Dragon Republic by R. F. Kuang, the deluxe edition of The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, and last but not least Never Flinch by Stephen King. My son then bought me a bookmark that says.... I have no self-control... I think he nailed that one. I cannot wait to dive into a physical book.. I LOVE my kindle and it has been amazing, but being curled up with a book is pure enjoyment to me.
